Ouzoud Waterfalls tour from Marrakech: the journey begins
Leaving Marrakech behind, the city gradually gives way to more open landscapes. Villages appear along the road and the first hills announce the approach to the Atlas Mountains.
From your comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle, you watch Morocco change around you. You are not simply travelling to Ouzoud: you are gradually entering a different landscape.
And suddenly, the water appears
From above, several streams of water plunge between red cliffs and vegetation. The landscape seems to open beneath your feet.
It is natural to stop for a few moments, look and listen. This first viewpoint is only the beginning of the discovery.
The walk down through the olive trees
Reaching the foot of the waterfalls involves walking downhill. The path winds between olive trees, rocks and shaded sections. Some parts include steps and uneven ground.
We take our time and stop whenever necessary. As you descend, the roar of the water becomes stronger and the air noticeably cooler.
Our advice: wear good walking shoes and tell us about any mobility difficulties before booking.
Barbary macaques in the wild
With a little luck, you may see the Barbary macaques that live freely around the waterfalls. They move between the trees and rocks, sometimes with their young.
We observe them from a distance without touching or feeding them. Their presence is never staged or guaranteed, which is precisely what makes the encounter special.
Up close to the waterfalls
At the foot of the waterfalls, everything changes. The roar becomes impressive, droplets hang in the air and the coolness of the water contrasts with the warmth of the rocks.
Then comes one of the liveliest moments of the day: the boat ride. These wide local boats, fitted with benches and railings, move gently across the basin and bring you closer to the falls.
The closer the boat gets, the more impressive Ouzoud becomes. Expect a little spray — and probably a few smiles.
Moroccan flavours overlooking the falls
After the walk and the excitement, it is time to sit down. If you choose the meal option, enjoy a Moroccan tagine served with bread and traditional flavours.
Here, the view matters almost as much as the food. The waterfalls remain in front of you while you enjoy a simple, generous and unmistakably Moroccan meal.
Take a little more time to enjoy the view
Before returning to Marrakech, there is still time to enjoy the landscape. Depending on your chosen itinerary and the time available, you may have the opportunity to enjoy a mint tea while looking at the waterfalls one last time.

Follow the paths gradually descending towards the foot of the waterfalls. The route includes uneven ground, steps and an uphill walk on the return.

A possible encounter with the macaques
Barbary macaques live freely around the site and their presence is never guaranteed. If they appear, observe them from a distance without touching or feeding them.

Your departure time is agreed with you. An early departure is recommended so that you can enjoy the site fully and return to Marrakech in the evening.
From your accommodation
Your private vehicle collects you from your hotel or accommodation. If your riad is located in a pedestrian street, you will be given a nearby accessible meeting point.
Walking down and back up
The route includes steps, slopes and uneven sections. Your guide adapts the pace as much as possible and allows the necessary rest stops.
For your comfort
Wear comfortable closed shoes. Bring water, sun protection and a light jacket depending on the season.
Close to the waterfalls
The boat ride is included. It depends on safety conditions and the water level. A little spray is possible when approaching the falls.

02 Where will we be picked up?
Your private vehicle collects you from your hotel, riad or holiday accommodation in Marrakech. If your accommodation is not accessible by vehicle, a nearby meeting point will be arranged.
03 Is the walk difficult?
A complete visit requires reasonable mobility. It involves walking downhill and back uphill, with steps, slopes and some uneven or occasionally slippery sections. Your guide adapts the pace as much as possible, but good closed walking shoes are strongly recommended.
04 Is the excursion suitable for children?
Yes. Children can take part under their parents’ supervision. The standard price of €215 covers one or two people. From the third traveller onwards, add €35 per adult or child. Please tell us their ages and make sure they are comfortable with walking.
05 Is the boat ride included?
Yes. The boat ride is included in the price. It remains subject to safety conditions and the water level on the day of the excursion.
06 Will we get wet during the boat ride?
A little spray is possible when the boat approaches the falls. Protect your phone and other items that are sensitive to water. A light change of clothing can be useful, especially for children.
07 Is lunch included?
No. The meal is not included in the standard price. It can be added when booking for €27 per person. Please tell us in advance about any allergies, intolerances or dietary restrictions.
08 Are we guaranteed to see the macaques?
No. Barbary macaques live freely around the site and their presence can never be guaranteed. If you encounter them, you can observe and photograph them from a distance without touching or feeding them.
09 How much does the private excursion cost?
The excursion costs €215 for one or two people, then €35 per additional traveller, up to a maximum of six people. The vehicle and accompaniment are reserved exclusively for your group. The meal is an optional extra.
10 How do booking and payment work?
After you choose your date and any optional extras, we check availability. Once confirmed, a deposit is paid online to secure the booking. This deposit forms part of the total price and is not an additional charge. The remaining balance is paid directly to the guide or local service provider in Morocco according to the arrangements stated in your booking confirmation.
11 Can we choose the “Girls Only” option?
Yes. When booking, you can choose the “Girls Only” option if you would prefer to be accompanied by a female guide. The excursion programme and activities remain organised according to your selected option.
12 What is the cancellation policy?
Cancellation is free up to 48 hours before departure. After that deadline, the excursion price remains due because the vehicle and accompaniment have already been reserved for your group.
