01 · Departure
The High Atlas slowly draws closer
In the morning, your guide collects you from your accommodation in Marrakech. You settle into your private vehicle and gradually leave the city behind.
The road crosses the plains before entering the mountains. Villages begin to appear on the slopes, the valleys narrow and the High Atlas soon fills the horizon.
The journey is already part of the experience: you watch the landscape change and gradually begin to understand life in the mountains.
02 · Arrival
Imlil appears in the heart of the valley
As you approach Imlil, the houses seem to follow the shape of the mountain. Villages blend into terraced fields, trees and paths still used by local residents to move through the valley.
Imlil is the gateway to the Toubkal massif. Your day is not an ascent of the summit: it is an opportunity to enter this mountain world and discover its landscapes and everyday life.
03 · First steps
A village shaped by the mountains
In Imlil, the road gradually gives way to walking paths. You discover a living village, small local addresses, houses and the simple rhythms of everyday life.
Your guide does more than show you the way. He accompanies you, tells you about the valley and helps you understand what you see, without turning local life into a performance.
04 · The walk
Discover the mountains at the pace of a mule
The walk begins on the trails around Imlil. A mule is part of the experience and accompanies your journey, as these animals have done for generations in the mountain valleys.
Your guide chooses the route according to the group, the weather and trail conditions. The aim is not to break a record: it is to walk, breathe and enjoy the landscapes.
The exact villages visited depend on the route chosen on the day. Each group therefore discovers Imlil at its own pace.

05 · The break
Recharge while enjoying the view
During the walk, the group stops to rest and enjoy the surroundings. Biscuits are provided for a little energy, together with two bottles of water per person to help you stay hydrated throughout the day.
This break is not timed. It is an opportunity to rest, take a few photographs and continue when everyone feels ready.
Allergies and intolerances are requested before departure so that the snack can be adapted safely.

Comfort after the effort
After the walk, you sit down in Imlil to enjoy a traditional meal included in your excursion. It is time to rest your legs, regain some energy and continue discovering the region through its flavours.
The meal is prepared locally and its exact composition may vary. Your guide presents the dishes and explains what is being served.

A meal that tells the story of the mountains
Lunch is more than simply a plate placed in front of you. Your guide remains with you, explains the preparations and helps you discover the customs surrounding a Moroccan meal.

08 · Return
The mountains slowly fade away
At the end of the day, you return to your vehicle for the journey back to Marrakech. The light changes across the mountains and the villages gradually disappear behind the bends in the road.
The exact return time depends on the route, breaks and traffic. You return with the pleasant tiredness of a real day outdoors and memories of a very different side of Morocco.

01 How long does the excursion last?
The excursion lasts a full day. Departure is in the morning and the return to Marrakech is planned for the end of the day. Exact timings depend on the route, breaks, traffic and your group’s pace.
02 Where will we be picked up?
Pick-up is from your hotel, riad or holiday accommodation in Marrakech. If your accommodation cannot be reached by vehicle, a nearby and easily accessible meeting point will be provided.
03 Does this excursion include climbing Mount Toubkal?
No. This is a one-day excursion around Imlil at the foot of Mount Toubkal. It allows you to discover the valley and its trails without climbing the summit or spending a night in a mountain refuge.
04 Is the walk difficult?
The walk requires reasonable mobility and includes slopes and uneven sections. Your guide chooses the route and adapts the pace as much as possible to the group, the weather and the condition of the trails.
05 What equipment should we bring?
Bring good walking shoes, a hat or cap and sunscreen. Depending on the season, a light jacket or warmer layer is also useful because mountain temperatures can change quickly.
06 Is the mule included?
Yes. The mule is part of the experience. It accompanies the walk and is already included in the excursion price.
07 Are the meal, water and snack included?
Yes. A traditional meal in Imlil, biscuits for the snack and two bottles of water per person are included.
08 Is the excursion suitable for children?
Children can participate if they are comfortable walking and remain under their parents’ supervision. Please tell us their ages and walking habits before departure.
09 How much does the private excursion cost?
The price is €292 for two people, then €35 per additional person, up to a maximum of six travellers. Transport, guide, walking excursion, mule, biscuits, water and traditional meal are included.
10 Can we choose the Girls Only option for Imlil?
Yes. When booking, you can select the Girls Only option and request a female guide. The excursion remains private and the route is adapted to your group’s pace.
11 How do booking and payment work?
Once you have chosen your date and number of travellers, we check availability. Once confirmed, an online deposit is requested to secure your booking. This deposit forms part of the total price shown and is not an additional charge. The remaining balance is paid directly to the guide or local service provider in Morocco according to the details in your confirmation.
